Dupes

What is a Dupe?

Dupe Count refers to the number of times a particular lineup is duplicated in a simulated contest. In Daily Fantasy Sports, especially in formats like Showdown or small slates with few games, the Dupe Count is crucial for identifying lineups that are likely to be used by many other players.

Why It Matters:

High Dupe Count: Indicates that a lineup is likely to be popular and duplicated by many players in the contest. While these lineups might be strong, they can lead to “chopped” payouts, where you have to share winnings with others who have the same lineup.

Low Dupe Count: Indicates that a lineup is unique or less likely to be duplicated, which is advantageous in GPPs (Guaranteed Prize Pool tournaments) where you want to differentiate your lineup to maximize potential payouts.

Using Dupe Count allows you to strategically avoid heavily duplicated lineups, increasing your chances of achieving a higher, less-shared payout in contests.
